This assignment called for three different types of photographs to be taken of an object of cultural importance to the photographer, incorporating artificial lighting, depth of field and specific details.
The first object chosen was my memory jar from my high school graduation party. Friends and family each wrote me small notes about their favorite memories with me and placed them in the jar. My hometown along with my friends and family from there is something I deeply cherish. It has shaped me to be who I am, and the people there have supported me in all my endeavors, whether it be studying abroad, writing, or dance.
This is the shot with artificial light, coming from a desk lamp.
This shot shows a specific detail of the object, notes from my friends Amanda and Kristin are in focus.
This image is a shallow depth of field, characterized by a lower F stop and zoomed focus.
